Default Kicktronic or Pingel Shifter?

Does anyone have any knowledge about either one of these electronic shifters as to which one works better than the other? I have heard different conflicting opinions as to which one operates better. I understand there have been changes in the manufacturing of these products. PM me if you know something we don’t want to bad mouth any one. Thanks

Stay away from the Pingel, I had it less then 6 months and it failed twice on me. I had them repair it once and theyre customer service was slow on getting it back to me. 6 Weeks later it stopped working again. After that I removed it and put in a box, $1000.00 wasted for the shifter and labor to install it. As far as Im concerned, telling the truth about a product isnt bad mouthing them.

The Klicktronic shiter is the way to go if your needing a electronic shifter.

my brothers trike has a pingel shifter, and it failed withing 200 miles of installation. replaced under warranty, and still a little tempermental. It couldve been the monkeys installing it too, be cause 2 times the bolts fell out of it.

The Klicktronic shifter is far superior than the Pingel. Pingel try to carbon copy Klicktronics design but have yet to perfect it.

Due to a spinal cord injury and no use of my legs I'm totally reliant on my electric shifter.

I know after I had mine installed it was shifting hard, but after some trial and error fixes it turned out to be to much play in the clutch lever. In order to work properly you must remove all play. These type of shifters are very touchy. Now it works smoothly.

Badasstrike,

I saw the rear fender bra’s in the pictures posted in your album and am wondering…
how they are fastened and if there is any movement to them at speed?

Also are they a Harley part and if so; what is the part number?

Congratulations and best luck with your new Tri-Glide!

Stay Safe Out There!!!!

Thanks Jim, the skirts are not a Harley part. Here's the link where I purchased them. http://www.peckaloos.com/triglide.html You can have any type of design or lettering added and there held on by metal snap fastners. They seem very durable and they are a breeze to take on and off.

Enjoy the ride Badasstrike!

Do the snaps require drilling into the fenders?

I also had a Pingel shifter and it's failed on me twice costing me well over 1500.00 for replacement parts and labor. I now went to the Kliktronic shifter and it works great, I have logged close to 1500 miles to date, have the Kliktronic install 7 weeks ago. I'm in the process of trying to get my money back from Pingel, so that means I do have a lawyer. I'm wondering if maybe everyone that has bought this pingel, that we might have a civicl suite we can put on them? If anyone is intrested please contact me at tcvoter@gmail.com
