Talking Need short break lever

I just hooked up a 1998 Ultra Sidecar to my '08 Ultra. All seems ok except the rear brake pedal. It hits the lower sidecar mount that passes in front of the engine guard (connects to the down tube). I have been told that the 1997 thru 2002 touring bikes used a shorter brake lever that should clear the sidecar mount. Does anyone out there know if this is true, if so do you have a Harley part number????? All help appreciated.

If your bike is a 08 with Brembro brakes, The older style rear brake pedal will not work on your bike. I found this out trying to install a extended rear brake pedal that was for 07 and older.

The angle of the "ear" on the older brake pedal the push rod attaches to for the master cylinder is a different angle. It raises the pedal up so much that it will hit the front header pipe

You might want to find a 08 take off rear pedal and try grinding out some of the metal of the pedal arm until you get the right clearence

Jim, my sidecar for the '08 came with a short brake pedal. I don't know what the part number is, but if all else fails you might get a dealer to order one for you. Good luck
