Red face Wife ordered a Frankenstein axle

Well we have been trying to figure out what axle to put under the Sportster.
She decided on the Frankenstein 34" with the 295/50/15 tires.
It should get here in about 10 days and then we will put it together.
Thanks Grimm for your input.

I have to agree that the Frankenstein was the best axle for the job.

Grimm gave good advise here no doubt. I would have picked the same if the budget on my build could have afforded it.

Good luck with your build and get some pic's up when get it going

Well the parts came in and they look great. I have got about 2 hours before I can test drive it. I am very happy with the ease of the build with Frankensein Parts

I am seriously considering that same rear axle for my wifes 2008 Sportster custom. How was the install, quality of the parts and any pros and cons on this axle. Thanks for any feedback you can provide before i pull the trigger on this one. Pictures would be helpfull if you could provide.

The build was very easy the axle fit perfect. The only issue I had was cutting the bushing for the belt pulley, they want a .005-.015 tolerance which was difficult to get without taking it to town to have them machine this. I will try to get the pictures posted tonight.

As you can see the trike is not painted yet or completly finished but it is rideable and I will complete it this winter. Lori loves riding it and as of now does not wanted it raked. The trike steers very easily and rides great. I will tighten up the front tire end play a bit and tighten up the tree bearings, just to help with some of the low end wobble. The wobble is not hardly noticeable.
