RE: two die in side car.
I only asked because I bought a 10 year old ultra w/ sidecar and it only had 2182 miles on it. Come to find out the owner bought it when he was 66 having never owned a motorcycle thinking the sidecar would take the worry and concern out of riding a motorcycle. He found out the expensive way that thats the furthest thing from the truth. My luck. He paid lots and I paid little, his call. I am greatfulfor the break on the price
But back to this unfortunate incident, I'm not wondering how much experience these 2 elder brothers had and were they drinking etc... Either way it is a very unfortunate scenario and my heart goes out to the family.
The whole incident sounds extremely bizarre. Sidecars while a little more difficult to manage cn be safe if driven with care and as much understanding of the owners of what you're getting into. They neither make riding a motorcycle easier nor escalate the chance of accidents.

Wonder what caused the redirection of the motorcycle/sidecar. \\; It doesn't say. Wonder if it was a fluke(never ridden a bike before) purchase.

My guess is that something caused the operator to panic, he applied the brakes too aggressivlely and the combined weight of the hack and its passenger "shoved" the rig to the left, into the path of the on-coming truck.
