Default Got my trailer ready for my September trip

Took the trailer out of the shed and loaded it with 150 lbs of weight. Pulls smooth as silk. I barely know it’s back there except for when I stop. I do have a set of EBC double sintered pads for all around. That should grab better than stock.

Up through WV, then into OH, IN then up 131 in MI , want to ride the tunnel of trees then over the Mackinaw Bridge. Then I think we will go west around the lake then down to Milwaukee (H-D museum if we can), then follow the Mississippi down fora while then to around Pedukah the take the Daniel Boone forest east though Sounthern KY into VA ,TN then back home through NC mountains.

it’s what I was told and all I did was weld the corners , fab new mounts for the fenders, add taller wheels and remove a leaf on the springs. At 80 mph with a 200 lbs load it’s very stable. Of course I don’t cruise at that speed but I’ve had it there. I also put bearing buddies on it.

Bearing buddies are for trailers that go in water, like boat trailers. Even says so on their website.

I buy the Northern tool 40x48 trailers, with 12 inch tires, and narrow them to just clear the cargo box. Then I get a friend to weld the corners and cross braces. Use 3/4 plywood for the base to help add some weight. I find the cargo boxes locally pretty cheap. I have seen these advertised at $800 on Facebook Marketplace when I was building them for $350. Now the trailer kits are $500 when on sale. But they do come with LED lights now.

When I retire if we decide we are traveling more I may buy a Bushtec or a Lumina… we will see in 5 years. Lots can happen but for now I’m very satisfied with my little red.

Sometimes, they park in inconspicuous spots but not hidden. LOL that would be entrapment...

Yeah, I know about the buddies, I called them, they said it's designed for trailers in water but will work on regular trailers also. they just don't apply constant pressure, well a whole lot anyway. Still need to take them apart and inspect them. Mine are smooth rolling and have not been abused. I am still going to take them apart before i leave and thoroughly inspect them and repack. I use Lucas red n tacky... Seem to have had the best success with it.
