I actually already picked up the 61-62 panhead emblems a couple months ago. I think the paint will look good too. My indy has a Christmas ornament with the colors on it he'll let me show the paint shop. I plan on doing all three tins with it. Just need to decide white on the sides or in the middle. As for the tank just a nice even top/bottom split. Yep - the bike on its side was not a highlight of the project, but it could have been worse had it completely fell and not rested on the dolly. I'll be going with the memphis shades replacement as well, fading into blue. Do I need inside fender struts as well? Just curious. I believe you mentioned you did them for stiffening up for the dual exhaust, is this correct?

I am partial to the '62 tank scheme for a tank split. That little extra stripe addes a lot. As far as fenders, I too toyed with the idea of white panels untill I found out they weren't offered in '59 or '60 and I specifically want 1960 (my birth year). My conclusions on white fender panels depend on white wall or black wall tires. White walls; white panels in the center, black walls; white panels on the outside.
The rear fender to saddlebag bracket mounts with one bolt in the center of the fender. That was inadequate for distributing and dampening the exhaust vibrations. The fender bracket is now mounted to three points, two of which are the fender struts. I will also be connecting the bottom of my saddlebag brackets to the fender bracket. This will stop the saddlebags from sagging inboard when fully loaded. It is handy having an Ultra Classic in the garage to study what works with dual exhaust and heavy saddlebags.

You guys have really put a lot of thought into your builds, makes me wish I took a little more time on mine in the planning stages. I didn't really plan on doing mine, I sold my GTO and had money to spend and I thought "why not" and dove in.

I figure I can only get away with this (with the wife) once, so might as well shoot for the moon. Every now and then UPS shows up with something for her, so that deflects the heat a bit.

Hope this is the right place to ask, i have an 02 FXD, with 28deg of stock rake and a Night train front end, i am wanting to put a Fatboy front end, from what i have read i will need to grind the fork stops, does the Fatboy front end have any rake built into the trees, and how will this look on my bike and any handling issues, also i will be installing a roadking rear fender.

Hey Rob ... I think you're in the right place
The FLST front end will work the same as your FXST front end ... several of us have the same frame ....
No rake in the Fat Boy trees ...

Also, make sure your Road King fender is 2008 or older. Sometimes they show up on eBay with blinkers and everything.

Here is another tease! Got the Bubble Bags and just hung them by one bolt for a picture. They will go up and back a little bit. The brackets are being made right now.

Really nice - are they they birch white or the brighter white? They fit really nicely. Perfect blend with the white in the tank and the delta with the rest. Shoot us a side profile shot. How are you making the brackets? Also, could you take a couple up close pics of the mounting part of the bags, where they attach to the strut?

They are the Birch White. A little brighter than the Wimbeldon White on the tank but close enough. BB Reproductions is making me a custom set of brackets at no additional cost beyond the standard bracket price. I want to attach the new brackets to my old aluminum (in the picture) brackets. This gives me a large flat surface to bolt the new brackets to. I want the flexability because most saddlebags I see mounted to Dynas are: too high, too low, tilted up, tilted down or just don't look like they belong. My only issue after bolting the new brackets to the old, the aluminum barckets extend outboard 3 inches. After adding the width of the new brackets, I will most likely have to remove 1 inch of aluminum so they only throw out 2 inches total.
