Here's a shot with rear wheel on and tank, off the dolly, supported by the jack:
I think I'll have to bring the rear tip of the rear fender down a bit, and the front up a bit, but it's getting there.

It is starting to look like a 70's FLH! The front fender angle is perfect and yes, you do have the correct fender. The Roadking front fender tip does not have a light and does fit. You have to be very careful putting it on though as it wants to scratch the paint going on until it is fully seated.
If the bike is to be predominately white, I would go with the black bags. If white is the minor color then white bags work. I have to add white to about 1/2 of my gas tank (1960 style). The Red/White 1960 used white bags, so that made my decision.

Thanks for easing my concern on the fender. Glad to hear about the road king fender tip. I didn't want a lamp on the front, and didn't feel like messing with wiring for it either. Any certain year on the road king fender tip I should search for? Most of the ones I've seen don't mention the width of the tip.
It will be half white and half to be determined, so hence dilemma on the color of the bags. Did you find some used bubble bags? I saw a few sets on ebay but they looked pretty crappy. Wish I lived closer to PA so's I could ride it in there once it's painted and compare the colors of the bags.
I'm pretty pleased with the progress. I've almost got the floorboard fit into place with the plywood, just need to work out the angle a bit, and placement for my feet. I'll have to trim my heat shield a bit on the front header but otherwise should fit nicely.

Will circa 59-66 fender trim work with this 86 and up fender?

I don't think so. I didn't try it because I didn't think it would cover the lighting recess. Definately no match for the back. Probably your best bet is what I used, current Road King tips, especially because of the wide rear fender.

Do you have a pic of your front fender tip? I thought I saw a front pic somewhere but can't find it. Thanks.

Here is the closest photo I have on hand. You can see that it completely covers the lighting area. Same for the rear, just get the 09 and newer.
You don't have a tank lift on there do ya?

I do have the tank lift, is it that obvious? Got it from Jackyl 4 years ago. Do you think it needs to come off? It's never bothered me too much.
My rear fender has the lower lamp on the tip, came with it, so I guess I could do a lamp on the front, but felt it would be too 'busy' plus I don't feel like messing with the wiring for that.

In my opinion (gently stated) the tank lift detracts from the classic FLH lines. You could remove the rear light, that is what I did. Adding the front light is not too much trouble though, you propably noticed the hole in the left side of the fender for the single wire.
Been doing multiple things at the same time. I know better than that! I am doing mock up of a FLHTP Police seat, it will work and be supremely comfortable. It is designed for a doughnut fed a$$ to sit on it all day. I have also been doing the rear bracketry for the exhaust hangers. The steel round bar bends much easier than I expected and am able to get beautiful 90 degree bends with it. I don't understand still why my MIG welding is 100% better when I don't use any shielding gas.

Don't know if you have ever seen one of these before, but people kill for them. Long discontinued...........
