My klockwerks front fender brackets should be sent out Monday. I hope they take into account the rake angle difference you mentioned. I got all my wiring cleaned up nicely yesterday with the braided covering. Unfortunately, I overtightened the screws on the headlight and cracked the lamp. Lesson learned on that. I plan on widening front mounting holes on the rear fender for the final fine tuning of mounting that, finalizing the spacer plan, and then drill hole(s) for the seat, then begin process of sanding down and filling the unneeded holes and grinding down, and of course fit my chopped off fat bob fender piece into place for rear extension.

Got the new 1958-78 cigar mufflers on. Almost as quiet as stock, but a better tone. Maybe the packing will settle or I can remove the deflector in the center. They appear to have the exact same amount of exhaust pressure on each side.

They look good - I haven't decided which exhaust I'll go with yet, still a ways off for that. The rush slip-ons have been better than stock, but not where I want to be. Not much done this week so far, been snowing again here and busy keeping the sidewalks cleared.
Got my luggage rack in, so will make something up for that hopefully will fill my gap between fender and struts. Need to call klockwerks today to find out if they shipped my front fender brackets. Also working on a plan for the tool box. I'm thinking of attaching u-bolts to the down tube on frame and fitting/welding a couple pieces of 1/8 in to bring it out and fit it in front of the shock so I can keep the passenger peg free.
Been looking at small metal lathes on which I can fit a milling attachment. It's evident from what I'm doing I'll need a few small turned pieces to make things look right, and besides, it looks like a cool little toy to play with.

My klockwerks front fender brackets came today. Will see how they fit tomorrow. Got some pics of mocking up my plywood templates for the toolbox and floorboards. I'll try to get them posted in next few days. I'm on at work this week, and Christmas Sunday, and then off on Monday for a week, so will hopefully start making some more progress.
My mini metal lathe I bought will be here tomorrow, so will need to get that set up as well so I can make some custom bushings for the rear fender, and make a milling attachment for it so I can use that for whatever. The lathe was kind of a side trip, but something I'll use once I learn how to use it.
I'm almost ready to weld up the bracket for my tool box based off my plywood template. Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep the passenger foot pegs on as they are now, as I won't be able to open the tool box. But, with the mustang solo as my new seat (no passenger pad for it yet), I won't be two up anyway for awhile, which will give me plenty of time to figure something out for that.
I will post some pics when I get a chance of how I'm going about all of this.

Yea been pretty slow for me too with Christmas and all. I have been spending a good percentage of my time trying to make the transition between my two rear fender pieces as perfect as I can. The front of my rear fender must look good because like my father, I have decided to use a FLH Police seat. I just cannot pass on the vintage look and I hear these are awesome seats.
I have also been doing more tweeking on my exhaust so it will look perfect and function troublefree. I have been able to get the shielding looking good from front to rear and everything looks like it came from the factory. I am starting to fall in love with the sound also. I sold my Rineharts so there is no going back now.
My fathers new bike is flying along (he is retired) and is being painted H-D Birch White this week.
Lone - I am really interested in seeing the fender adapters installed after having had to make my own.

Birch white is a great color (a little hint for the direction I'll be going with that). I need to dig out my fat bob fender bolts and see if I have something laying around for the new fender so I don't have to hit the hardware store today, but one way or another I'll have that fender on today so I can get some pics of that to compare. The brackets look nice, I just hope they mate up okay as far as rake angle goes, as like you mentioned awhile back, I don't want the front fender pointing downwards at all. I'd like to see that police seat. I'm happy with my mustang so far, but of course haven't been able to ride on it yet, but definitely it has transformed the bike in my opinion. It is truly no longer a fat bob.
I was looking at my fender and marking the fat bob fender for the extension I'll need as well and trying to war game it for the best option for welding the extension on there.
Once all is done then I'll figure a way to get passenger pegs back on around the toolbox, but the toolbox is definitely staying with the bike. It's a nice look (again my opinion).
I saw in one of your earlier posts that you plan on making your own brackets for the bubble bags, let's keep each other posted on that as well. I'd like to do the complete bag support if able, and want to use the rear fender bumper which has the extensions sticking out for mounting bags, and as you mentioned will add stability to the bags themselves while bolstering them from excessive vibration. I'm leaning heavily in the direction of the black bubbles with the delta. I like the birch white but think it will be too showy for where I'm going, but not out of the question yet. I want to get some bags on order, but am hesitating only because of not knowing for sure which color to get. The delta will be there, though, I'm pretty sure.
As for selling my take offs - I'm nearing the point where I need to start posting some of this stuff on ebay and in the hdf classifieds so I can clear out my garage a bit, and further finance this project.

Also, I'm debating whether to do the floorboard brackets myself or by the extension kit from cycle visions like chop did. The advantage of buying is that the angle is already built into the mounting, I'd just have to get the frame holes lined up v. my not so keen eye trying to fit it all on there. I'm thinking I might run into an issue with the front fat bob header pipe, though, as it curves substantially forward before going down and back, and I think it might hinder the placement of the right floorboard. What are your thoughts on that? If it does, it might speed up my process of a replacement exhaust system somewhat.
My goal for the bike is hopefully to have it rideable by early spring, and spend rest of spring with final tweaks and painting. After that, it will be just cosmetic stuff.

Here's some pics of the front fender on the bike with the klockwerks fxdf brackets. There's some minor spacing/alignment issues, but think will correct itself with fork height. I don't think the angle will be a problem. Right now the front is lower than the rear as the bike's on the dolly, but once on the ground I believe it will look like it belongs there:

I'll stick the rear wheel on today if I have time and snap a couple pics of the bike on the ground. Maybe even stick the fuel tank on real quick and do the same to get an idea of the final product.

I'm concerned that I got the wrong front fender. The one I got had the holes drilled already for the trim, and also has a dimple in the front for what I'm assuming is a lamp or front bumper. Did yours look like that as well, with holes and a dimple? I want to do trim on it, i.e. the spears and a V in the front, but don't necessarily want/need a lamp on the tip.
