Life is good with the right hand floorboard. Got a used, but great shape, rear master cylinder from custom guy here in town for $25 out the door, bolted right up like it should. Just need to fit those boards on there and get some brake line and that will be taken care of. Got my metripack unsealed wire terminals in the mail today, so I can hook up the rest of the wiring for the spotlight bar. Great time here in Flagstaff to work on the bike, heavy snow predicted, and already starting to fall, for the next couple days.
The magnet idea for fitting the rear fender works 1/2 of as advertised. Apparently my idea of 12.5 pounds of holding strength is different from theirs. They hold it in place, but not without assistance. It does allow me to maneuver the fender where it will need to go, though, so that is good. I will need a second set of hands and eyes for final placement.
AFMM3 - you gave me a good idea with your luggage rack and fabricating your own quick detach. Now I know what to do with that unseemly space that will be between the rear fender and the struts. Cut and thread the horizontal bars on the 3 channel rack as needed for width between struts and fender, get the proper bushing for clipping the QDs down onto her and the horizontal fore/aft plates will cover that space up nicely, at least, once again, on paper. We'll see. Still have to get that fender on there first.
