So here's my fender fitting plan. My 2011 street glide fender is slightly more narrow than my strut width, and without the mounting holes being drilled yet, the only way to hold that baby in place is with clamps, which pull on the sides of the fender and don't give an accurate view of how it will look.
I got on the internet this past weekend and found these 1/2 inch O.D. 1/4 inch I.D. neodymium magnets, 1 inch long, which are rated at 12.52 lbs. of lifting strength per magnet, and they are magnetized axially on the flat ends.
The fender mounting holes on my struts are just a hair bigger than 1/2 inch. I Plan on Sticking the magnets through the holes on the struts to hold the fender while I fine tune the positioning using the seat mount and AFMM3's measurement from the floor with the tail light bar installed.
