There was a thread buried in the past on here about the oil in the touring models but I could never find it again. They aren't "serviceable" but guys have changed the oil in them through the air hole. Whatever you do don't ask the dealer or you'll get a big hearty DUH??

I say don't at all, can you imagine trying to remove it if you don't like it?

Well thats why i said im going to do some small peices first. They have to be painted regardless. So i thought about trying it om them first to see how i liked it, then go from there. Thanks for the thought.

I didn't get too much done this week off. I took my lightbar to a welder to get the welded nut put back on, hopefully will get it back today.
My 3 wire turn signals for the light bar came in as well. I spent the better part of Wed. crimping the wires for those and for the headlight. Those little amp sockets are very touchy when it comes to crimping. If there's the slightest imperfection in the shape, they don't click into place on the connector housing. I got them in there though, and new signals and headlight all work. Once I get the light bar back, then I'll continue fitting that onto my forks. Hopefully, my windshield mounts will come soon from ronnie's HD. I'm installing the lightbar with a 30a relay, toggle switch, and bypassing the headlight for an always on feature. I'll turn them off if I need to. I'll have to find an out of the way place for that toggle switch, though.
Practiced some mig welding this week, was laying down some good beads, but definitely need to use the gas option on my hobart, as I don't need those little splatter pieces on my fender when I get to the point of welding the unneeded holes. Front fender is here from K&G cycles. I got a raw new one. Ebay deals were not working out. All the used ones in decent shape were painted factory and the sellers were asking too much. I'm repainting anyway and didn't see the need to pay that much when a new one was cheaper. I still need to get those mounting brackets for fat bob forks. I'll call today about those to see that the hold up is.
I'm seriously considering the wyatt floorboard kits, but am concerned about the distance between the heel-toe shifter. My foot isn't too big, but definitely want enough room for my boot between the pegs, otherwise it defeats the purpose. Fabricating my own isn't out of the question yet. I was all over the dyna forum yesterday getting ideas for that.
As soon as my buddy from work gets some more time, we'll get started fitting the rear fender into place. That is the most critical due to the spacing issue I have, and with the gap on the front of it. I'll take some good notes for that, and some pics as I move forward. The less I have to drill on that baby, the better I'll be, and of course I want it to look likes it's been there the whole time.
That's my update for past few days. Not a lot of action, but a lot of thought. I'll get there, though. There's no turning back.

Here's one that was covered in line-x, not too bad actually. It would definately be low maintenance!
