Another option for the turn signals if you want to reuse the stockers.

AFMM3- do you have the part number, and where you bought, the 49mm fork clamps for the light bar? Did you get two pair? Are these the ones:

I saw the new switchback today. It's nice, but I'm glad I'm going this route, that way the bike will be exactly to my specs.

Yep, them are the clamps, 2 pairs. Search the universe for the lowest price. Should be in the upper $40s to lower $60 for a pair.

AFMM3, so my rear fender came today. It is a little narrow but fits width wise (I'll need spacers). My concern is it doesn't come down in the front very much and there's a gap where older style fenders come down more. It's the same size as my fat bob fender, almost identical in shape, the fat bob is just canted forward so that the rear is high up. So, about this gap, without bags to cover it up, a large part of the tire will be visible in the front. Did your road king fender from 09 come down and cover up the electrical connectors? Or does yours have gap as well? I'll take some pics in awhile to show you what I'm talking about. I have it sort of fitted on there right now using the seat mount and seat to 'hold' it in place. I'll probably need some guidance from you on how to properly fit it in there so that it sits parallel with the ground when I'm on the bike, i.e. so the rear tip doesn't come down to low and look silly.

Here's one pic of what I'm talking about
: Maybe the fender should be forward more, although can't go too much further, or maybe should be canted forward more. Any suggestions.

I wouldn't attempt to fit the fender until you put a tail light on. 2 things I did was: 1.make sure the tail light is level when the bike is on the ground
2.there should be 13 inches from the rear of the fender to the ground
Compromise between these 2 figures until it looks and fits right with the seat etc.
Last week I asked Ackman to find some pictures of how he added to his fender to fill in the gap in front of the shocks. I will be doing this during winter down time. Even with saddlebags, you couldn't hide it. That was the original reason I mounted the tool box (now I am going for the full 1960 clone).

Good tip about the tail light. It was on there, I just took it off so's I wouldn't scratch it. Buddy was over, who's a lot smarter than me, and we're going to tackle the gap once the fender is fit. He used to do body work, so has an idea of how to fit some sheet metal in there and weld her in there. (he welds also, so can show me how to use my new hobart). Spot light bar is on its way. Guy at the harley dealer asked me today, there's a spotlight bar for dynas? Nope, I said, with a grin on my face. I confirmed the headlight wiring with a custom guy in town, so that's all good. The best news of all is that my original tail light harness will fit just fine into the street glide lights, just like you said about interchangeable harley parts. Amazing how the fat bob fender and the street glide fender are almost identical, one is just canted forward more (the fat bob). That reminds me - How do the touring models cover that gap?

I wondered about the touring models too but they look at you funny when you want to start yarding parts off a bike on the display floor. Looks like you're good and committed now! My wife thought I was nuts for ripping into a 2 year old bike but she liked the outcome.
