The FLH look is what I have in mind for my newly acquired '99 FXD. I rolled it off the trailer, and into my garage last Sunday, having traded an '85 Corvette for it. I'm 61, and have rode all my life, but this is my first Harley. The previous owner had this bike since 2003, and decided to go with the RatBike look 10 years ago. It's ok. I have paint stripper, and a sandblast cabinet, and I'm not afraid to use them! It may look like a rat, but mechanically it's in good shape, with S&S cam gear drive, Andrews cams, and hydraulic primary chain tensioner, among other things. It's already headed in the right direction with the fenders, and a wide glide front conversion. An FLH front end is part of the long range plans, but will probably be stage 2. Short term plans, are for a Wide Glide tank and a 2 tone red and white paint job similar to early Shovelheads.
