Here's another not so good shot.

Here's a few details, starting with the front end which seems to be the focus of the group. Shovelhead FXWG trees with the steering stops modified to work with the Dyna frame, 22-1/4" Softail tube assemblies, 2000-2007 touring platform lower legs and front wheel. It'll take dual disk but they're really not necessary on a bike this light. Other changes include a '99 FXWG tank, old Electra-Glide bars, late Fat Bob shrouded shocks, and a few other obvious changes from the original '96 FXD. I was researching the mods when I found this forum and it was a big help.

Ran the new front end in its first big ride; a poker run to benefit cancer on Saturday.
And holy hell, is it a night and day difference between the two front ends. I was never able to do a burnout before due to the front end skipping on the old, but now that 130/70 tire bites right in and is able to let the back one screeeeeeeeeeech!

Been on the road for a while ---Bob that bobber is cool as hell!!
How do the Coker tires feel? They look so good that it probably doesn't matter.
Exhaust is perfect
I would go with foot boards myself, for both looks and comfort.
Evo motor would look insane with Custom Chrome Knucklehead rocker boxes.
An Evo era Wide Glide rear fender and some fifties or sixties style blinkers.

AFMM3, thanks. The tires are actually Shinko E270 replicas of the Goodyear Super Eagles used on Big Twins until around 1968. They are surprisingly good. The full aspect ratio profile yields a good ride and they are very sticky. I didn't even have to balance them. By all accounts I've read, and a friend's experience with the Cokers, the Shinko is a much better tire and at $82 ea. shipped, no complaints. I made the exhaust by slicing and dicing an exhaust pipe from a Twin Cam touring model and welding it back together. The muffler is standard issue for '61-'66. Footboards are OK. I had them on my Road King, but I prefer the mid-controls. It's just personal preference. The objective was to create a bike that utilized some styling cues from the stripped down late 50's early 60's FLH models we used to ride. I'm satisfied so far.

Awesome to see post slow down in here, means everyone is riding.........hopefully.
Finished up my 1800 mile trip to the black hills late last night. Setup on the bike is awesome, just want to make the front end shock a little stiffer and find some rears to bring me back to stock height. But love the trip and all it views.

I used progressive spirings up front nd it stiffened them up just enough without being harsh, aslo helped with nose diving when braking hard

Just passed the 600 mile mark on the new front end. Still running great; did my second poker run this weekend with it...
I have a slight fork seal leak on both sides...It seems to have stopped now, but I wanted to ask, is there a "break in period" for the seals? Or did I just fill to high and it was blowing off the excess?
