"* * * The rear fender rail is an awesome piece but something doesn't look quite right. ... like they are reaching for the wrong mounting point and don't flow with the fender. ..."
I hear ya ... when I first got it, I was thinking it had more of a gentle curve ... mine seems to have a bend mid-way down ... I'm going to experiment with it a little ... see if I can get it to 'work' ...
I do like the shocks ...

All it really needs is connect to the bolt in front of the current one. I am sure it won't reach of course, but I am sure a short plate going down from that bolt could be connected to. It might also reach if the curve is straightened out.

Since I am using a pair of strut extenders/spacers, I could just figure out where the rail needs to atach and drill and tap a hole ... use a short threaded rod/stud and cap it with an acorn nut to match the rest ...

Chop, did you buy that rear rail used? It almost looks like it was bumped and bent when someone backed the bike into a wall?
Other than that, everything else looks tight!

My father is going for the dual exhaust now. He has a headpipe from a 2008 Electra-Glide (plug the O2 ports) and a left side shovelhead pipe. These will be grafted together. The right side will be supported from the right side muffler hanger, extended. The left side will have a hanger similar to the right side mounted to the rear of the primary.
I have told him to send me pictures along the way so I can post them here. He is also mounting up Shovelhead hard bags with the crash bars and railings. As I stated earlier, he also has a police batwing fairing that is a direct bolt on to his 1960-84 front end.
This should be fun to see when it is done. The exhaust comes first I believe, this month.

Chop, found a picture of your rear bumber bar mounted on an old pan. You are connected to the correct hole, it is the bend in the bars that is incorrect. If they are straightened out, the bottom edge will level out.
Earlier I posted that when I built the bracket to mount my exhaust completely to the engine I had picked up a nasty vibration right at 2,500 rpm. I did the front motor mount shim trick (took a full 1/4") and it is now like a new bike. No vibrations in the hands anymore and just the slightest can be felt through the footboards (it may have always been there, I can't remember).

Thanks for the info ... not sure what to do with it though ...
I am thinking a muffler shop would probably be the best place to try to straighten the tubes a little ... however, am a little worried it might 'dik up' the chrome ... (suppose I could always just powdercoat it satin black ...)
... guess it is kind of low on my list of priorities for the time being ...

I finally saved enough money & ordered a new FLD rear fender yesterday
60400-12DH Vivid (6 to 8 weeks)
57300001 RACKET, left fender mount
57300002 BRACKET, right fender mount
69380-09BHP BRACKET, LICENSE PLATE
I got the rear turn signal bar from a FLHX from a friend for free.
I haven’t been told that any of the parts are on back order so I hope to put it together the end of October.

Well skip, that should look pretty darn good. What bike do you have, what front end changes, if any do you want to do and we all love pictures, big pictures!
