I did a bit of it in the FL-Dyna Interest Group. Basically, it is a 2009 FLHT Touring Exhaust. 2009 is the only year that has the O2 sensor bungs at the top and also there is no catalytic convertor.
Rear downtube was cut off just above the collector. This allowed me to do a "pie cut" or two where the front down tube bends towards the back (The Electra-Glide motor is tilted forward vs the Dyna or Softail motor wich is slightly aft of center). Once the pie cut is made, I attached the exhaust bracket to an FLHT transmission bracket that I installed and stretched 2 inches forward. This established the exhaust as level as it needed to be.
The rear town tube needed about a 1/2 inch cut out of it and rewelded to the collector in it's new location.
The collector had to be stretched 3 inches for the cross under pipe to be located correctly.
I made an "L" bracket and welded
(weld broke and I have now devised a way to bolt it on, bulletproof)
it to the bottom of the rear engine isolator. I attached the OEM cross under bracket to this. At this point, the exhaust is mounted and supported exactly as an Electra-Glide.
Now the mufflers need to be supported as far to the rear as possible. I have a 2010 Road King fender with the "fender to Saddlebag" brace located at the bottom rear of the fender. This bracket is only as strong as the fender it is bolted to, so I ran bracing, inside the fender, from the bracket up to the fender struts. This is exactly as an Electra-Glide would do it but I chose to hide the additional bracing (made from old windshield brackets). My saddlebags were attached to the fender bracket so the bottom of the saddlebags would not sag inwards when loaded. To the saddlebag brackets I attached the muffler hangers with rubber isolators in them.
I have an Electra-Glide in my garage, so I tried to copy the physics as close to possible as this is a proven technology.
I explained it this way in a message to another member. It is performing flawlessy other than the rear mounting isolators wearing out prematurely (about 1,500). They only cost ten cents so I will wait until next winter to redisgn the rear hangers.

AFMM3 - thanks. I'll save that info for definitely later. I got my shield installed and plan on taking her out in a few minutes and I'll take a couple pics. As far as exhaust goes for now, I'm thinking heavily about a V&H pro pipe (chrome of course) with some kind of tuner, thinking thundermax. It may not be 'vintage' but will still look nice and sound nice. The 2-1-2 definitely needs to go so I can fit the bags on there nicely. I'll email Richard Monday and see if those babies shipped yet. I have a short week off this coming week, but getting started on the side plates for the luggage rack is on the slate, got some metal from work today, and some QD hardware from amazon the other day. Just waiting on the softail-style legs. It shouldn't be too difficult with my newly acquired welding skills.

Heres a couple pics with the windshield. Just took her for quick spin and it feels good, looks good too. I went with the 17 inch, and perfect height.

Now that is neat! I would like to see a picture without the cars in it, cannot quite make out the full windshield effect.
Did Richard Brown say anything about getting a blue Delta rather than red?

I'll take another later when my drive way is clear. I didn't ask him about blue delta, as I was going to do the blue reflector tape. I'll ask him tomorrow when I call if it's not too late.

AFMM3, I really want to go with the duals like you have but I am anxiously waiting on your dad's Softail setups results. My major concern is the fuse box and the heat as well as access to it with a pipe in the way.

Ackman - Softail easy install was a no-go. Transmission cover was the big problem. He will wait untill next winter and maybe build a system from scratch. He has the equipment to do pretty much anything and he has the time to get it right.
Once again, 2009 is the only tourig exhaust with the old style (unheated) O2 sensors up near the exhaust ports. I can walk you through from there with what I have learned.

AFMM3 So if I have no need for an O2 bung as my 2002 is carbed, do you know what year and model range exhaust I can look for?

Soup - 2009 was the first year of the cross-under exhaust for FLHxx models. That year had no Catalytic Converter in the head pipes. 2010 may be the year that they started putting in Catalytic Converters since I see people on eBay selling them stating that it has been removed. So apparently not too difficult to remove them.
There is the 2 into 1 for Street Glides and 2 into 1 into 2 for the other models. The 2 into 1 has a shorter shield for the collector than the 2-1-2. Since the collector has to be stretched 3 inches, I used the 2-1-2 shield to cover the rearward 80% of the collector and I chopped off 4 or 5 inches of the front portion of the 2-1 collector shield to fill in the gap between the down tube shields and the 2-1-2 collector shield.
