Wow, that's beautiful. Very nice work. I'm jealous.
Time to get out and ride.

Just successfully bled the new rear brake line after fumbling with it last night. I reverse bled with a syringe from the caliper to master, and then normal bleeding and she's rock solid, including the union I made on my lathe where the pressure switch goes. I feel a little gas going into the tank today and a test ride in my immediate future.

Got her up and running, quick trip to check it all out. A few adjustments need to be made. Here's couple more pics taken outside in the sun.

Good color choices. I like that front wheel and fender combo.

Lone nicely done
Get some whitewalls and white saddlebags on it to really knock it out of the park.

Looks great in the sun. I see windshield hardware, blue Memphis Shades in your future? The exhaust looks low enough for the bags to be mounted and be just under the top of the rear fender. Are you loving the floor boards yet?
It looks quite piggish, the saddlebags will make it look downright fat (phat?). Looks a lot like a 70s FLH.
I always love it when a new FL'd Dyna rolls out. I'm just afraid the MoCo will go all the way and make the FLD look right, then we won't be quite so special........

Already planning on the memphis shades blue, was just waiting to get her done and then decide on which height. I already have the straps for it from an ebay road king shield that fits, so might attach that and see if that's a good height. I was kind of hoping to put the saddle bags a little lower than just the top, but need to get those here to decide. 2 into 1 exhaust, though, will allow me to put them exactly where needed. Floorboards are nice. First time riding with them, so takes a little getting used to kicking it down for upshifting.
As for you comment on FL'd Dynas, I don't think the MoCo could emulate these custom jobs we're putting out. Even if they did, we have the satisfaction of knowing ours are home grown, not cookie-cutter bikes off the show room floor.

I believe my Memphis Shades FLSTC windshield was 19 inches. I could probably have got away with 17 inches as I have to stretch to see over it, and I am 6' 3". I have no issues with always looking through it though. I found it just as cheap if not cheaper to order the windshield right at the H-D Dealer. Sales tax was cheaper than shipping.
You will never be able to ride with pegs again after you get used to the boards. I actually left off the heal shifter on mine. The dyna shifts so easily that I figured the extra space for my feet would be nice. I do use it on my Electra-Glide though, clunkier tranny.
2 into one will definitely help with options for the bag location. I could help you come up with a design using a two into one 2009 FLHT exhaust. Old style Fishtail muffler and I have a new idea for supporting the muffler. You did learn how to weld during this project!

Is your idea for the exhaust for both sides like you did, or just the right side? I'd be interested to consider it. I did have my eye on a V&H pro pipe that looks and sounds nice, full system. Only thing is it's definitely not vintage looking, but I could probably live with that. One thing for sure, though, is the fat bob tommy gun exhaust has to go, it no longer fits, as it's no longer a fat bob. Got a few heads turning today on my test ride, which no one gave the fat bob a second look.
My original luggage rack idea was to use the down tubes as spacers for the fender, but found yesterday that the channels wouldn't be high enough to clear the fender, so I'm having to re-think that, probably using your idea with the QD hardware and little welding. It's better this way, anyway, as now getting the rear fender on and off isn't such a nut roll (think monkey and a football). Also, I'll be able to put 4 channels across the fender which will look nice. Have a few more things to order this coming week, including the windshield. I could throw HD a bone on that, but my indy here has been more helpful, so might go through him. So, I guess the proper height for the windshield means you should be looking over it, or that your nose should be in the same plane as the top of the shield, does this sound about right? I'll probably put the junked one together tomorrow to see how it fits and get an idea.

Soup - we'll see about the white walls, but AFMM3 has sold me over to the white bags (birch white, that is).
