Planning a trip to AZ next month. Any favorite routes or destinations along the way? Thinking about 55-44-40 south route and 70 on the return. Planning on photographing 2-3 days in AZ and UT. Maybe stop at Gunsmoke in Wheat Ridge CO.

 

Doing the 55-44-40 is going to be a boring ride. I did it because I needed to get to Phoenix ASAP. Dependent on how many days do you have for the trip.

 

Lucky you, wish I could go with. Never did it, just wanted to say have a safe trip!

 

I'm not getting any younger. I have the vacation time, i'm going to use it!

 

What areas of AZ do you plan on being in? Give me some info and I'll give you some ideas.

 

Looking at Winslow, Flagstaff and up north to the G.C. and over to the 4 corners and up to Moab UT.

 

The 4 corners Rally is Aug 29, to Sept 3rd. If that fits your plans.
If your taking I40 to Winslow then on to Flagstaff your going to miss the best AZ has to offer a Motorcycle rider.

That's a taylor-made trip to take Route 66! Most of it parallels 55-44-40, but the scenery is better. I'd skip 70 on the way home. Taking 70 means going through Kansas which is the WORST state in this great nation to ride in.
