Bikes On The Bricks - Happening NOW in Flint, Michigan
This weekend in Flint is the 3rd annual Bikes On The Bricks event.
Last year was my first. The 40+ mile ride, errr ... parade begins today at 4pm at Vehicle City Harley. Get there early for line up and meeting friends. It'll be police escorted again.
Last year the ride was late Friday and we didn't pull in until after dark, and the event was only Friday night & Saturday. This year it started yesterday @ 10 am and goes until late Sunday.
Sun is out, temps are cool but I'll be headed into Flint tonight, and tomorrow.
Highlights include the Police Bike Maneuver courses, Show bikes, 1,000s of other bikes everywhere.
Last year the Dyno Drags were a lot of fun to check out. They even put the police bikes up there to show off their 72 HP and 102 MPH top end rides ... lol
Lots of other vendors, lots of news coverage, loads to eat and a city filled with cycles.
Anyone else headed there?

Tell that to the Crimm, Back to the Bricks, the college town putting life back into the downtown.
It's no different than anywhere in the US it's got it good sides and bad sides.
But then being from St John do you ever get past Owosso .... most of the people out there head to Lansing.
Ride safe!

Yes I've been to Flint plenty of times ; and bikes on the bricks. Downtown was fine , just some of the surrounding neighborhoods look a little questionable. And by the way .. I avoid most of Lansing to. I just dont feel like getting shot at by some crack head who has nothing better to do .. just sayin'

And your right ; crime can happen anywhere. A good friend of mine was riding his dirt bike down a country road in southern ohio a few years ago , and some country bumpkin took a shot at him with a .22. The bullet just grazed his leg .. luckily it wasnt worse than that. My friend pressed charges , and all the shooter got was probation.
