Default Economy in WI?

Hey, I currently live in Duluth Minnesota area, been here pretty much my whole life and kinda looking for a change. Me and my other were in Wausau last weekend visiting her brother and sister n law. Both Agreed we liked the area, and would like to try life somewhere else. My question to people in Wisconsin is, which area's do you recomend for finding a job?

I'm a Heavy Equipment Operator by trade, but also have other skills and license's (CDL, Forklift, Welding, Mechanical, ETC)

Just throwing the idea's out there, but input is appreciated!

I'd suggest finding an area where you want to live, rather than vice versa, or you might get stuck in MIlwaukee. That said, since you like teh Wausau area, take a look at online newpapers for jobs in that area, as well as Tomahawk, or even towards Chippewa Falls. With your skillset, you should be able ot get a job almost anywhere. Also, some of the jobs in those areas may not sound like tehy pay a lot compared to Duluth, but keep in mind that the cost of living is cheaper as well.

I would go further South. Like the deep South. The weather is enough to drive you CRAZY!

Here's a couple thoughts, Oshkosh truck has landed some hefty gov contracts recently. The ship yards by Marinette also are adding skilled and unskilled labor to build some new boats for the Navy. Marinette area is right by the U.P. and lots of open country with nice riding. Good Luck!

I like Duluth but the weather sucks on many days when it is beautiful 20 miles away from the big lake.

I say go way south, like Alabama or something. Walker talks a good game but will ruin WI.

Haha, Trust me, if my other half would, I would move south where you can ride year round. But thats a no go with her. Too far away from family in here eyes. Having a Realtor coming over today to do a Market Annalysis on our house today. If numbers come back right, we are going to list the house for sale and start looking for work in Wausau area!

Thanks,
Mark
