Default North East Ohio traffic cameras

They may be gone in the November election. I hope I get a chance to sign the petition. I might even sign it twice.

Just curious... could these camera's be used to catch red-light runners who crash into motorcyclists legally entering an intersection?

I know I've had more than one close-call with red light runners. Not sure why people are against 'em. Obey the law, and there's no problem. And, if you happen to get run over by a red light runner, you might have some much-needed evidence. Just sayin'...

Why? Because its another step towards loss of privacy. Sure they start by using the reasoning of catching red light runners, a reasonable and good idea, in and of itself. But how easy is it for them to use it for any other sort of monitoring? You want to live in a world where they can virtually watch your every move? I sure don't!

There are many reason to not like them. I have never received one of these tickets, but I would sure try to fight it.

For one, what if someone else is driving your vehicle? Or what if it's a company vehicle? These cameras only prove the vehicle commited a crime, not any certain person.

Second, they were put in under false pretenses. They told everyone the cameras are for safety and NOT a revenue source. If that's the case then why haven't the accidents at these intersections gone down? And why has the City collected millions and millions in fines?

And third, what happened to innocent until proven guilty? And your CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to face your accuser? You can't question a camera in your own defense. You can't even fight the ticket without some sort of lawsuit.

Get rid of them and let humans police humans, not cameras!!!!!
