Hello all!

I am coming to the Minneapolis area in September (before the snow!) and was wondering what the locals think are the best things to do... places to eat, areas to visit (from the outdoors to touristy crap to any and all ideas), and so forth. I have never stepped foot in MN so I'm clueless. I like everything... from getting dirty and hiking to checking out local dives to shopping (though I'm not so crazy about this MOA and 4 f'n floors! Holy ****!).

Edit: What is the weather like in September (I'll be there the 10th-14th)? I don't know what to expect compared to where I live!

This is a solo trip for me (no kids... of my own anyway ). Any ideas?

If you can come up hwy 61 in mn. or 35 in wi. any wheres around the river and down by lansing iowa is great. ther are casinos around the twin cities, mall of america . fom the tc to sturgis a little over 650 miles or to the UP Michigan about 9 hrs away.... We usally go for 3 to 400 mile ride up to superior or around there 2nd mon of sept and weather can be from high 30's to 70.... yes and rain and fog... I gues expect any kind of weather and beautiful senery. have a good ride and welcome to Mn.

 

Ah, I guess I should have mentioned that I won't be on 2 wheels. I wish! I'll have some sort of rental economy car after my plane lands.

You will just miss the great Minnesota get together,state fair. the weather can be from 30's at night to 80's during day. we have had a cool summer so i would guess you will see average high temp of 60's. you will be a little early for the fall colors in the twin city area but a nice drive is north out of stillwater on 95 to taylor falls. good place to eat lil bar 1/2 way in marine on st croix. i forget the name of it but only lil bar in town.
another fun thing that time of year is the renaissance festival in shakopee. http://www.renaissancefest.com/MRF/. enjoy your stay.

 

Any last ideas of things to do? Anybody in the immediate area who wants to meet up?
