The wife and I are planning to be there this year, if she can get the time off from the post office, but if she cant make it ,I'll be there. We are planning on staying in Indy fri. night and leaving first thing in the morrning to head over. Does any one know of a hotel close by?

 

Do you want to stay near the Speedway track or the Riley Hospital? There is a motel at the Speedway Track. After party time Saturday night you wouldn't have far to go.

And there is a hotel right across from Riley Hospital which is closer to downtown. You would be where you need to be Sunday morning.

Well if you want to be close by the rally area, you can't get any closer than the hotel at the brickyard crossing golf course. It is right across 16th Street from the rally area. Any of the hotels along Crawfordsville Road in Speedway will be close as well.

 

BTW, where are you traveling from?

 

we will be coming from Auburn, its 17 north of Fort Wayne, I kind of know my way around Indy, but not real good. I know were the speedway is, been the a few times, along with going to the U.S nationals every year, plus a few Colts games.But its been awhile since I've been to the speedway. I think we want to be close to the rally area, So Ican look it up.

 

Here is a special rate for this motel. This is about 1 1/2 miles from the Motor Speedway Track. It's just around the corner from my house.
For a special $72/night Miracle Ride Hotel Rate, check out Clarion Hotel Waterfront Plaza at 465 and Crawfordsville Rd. (317) 299-8400. There is also a Red Roof near the Clarion. I wouldn't stay at the Motel 6 or the other motel in that area. Also check the motel that I mentioned that is just across the rally spot at the Speedway track.

Have you checked the events schedule? You mentioned getting here Friday night, but unless you are doing a Poker run there isn't anything going on until about 2:30pm on Saturday. The "Big Ride" is staging on Sunday at 8am.

One of the Poker Runs starts at Benson HD in Muncie Saturday morning and ends at the Speedway Track. That would be a fun way to get here.

We called the one by the speedway track, and they are booked, they gave us another hotel to call, ( I dont remember the name the wife wrote it down ) and they have afew rooms, but They were a little expencive, I thought $ 149.00 a night, We will find some thing close. We dont need to be right on top of it, just some where within a few miles. We dont mind coming down on Friday, it make for a better ride, that way we can look around and see where everything is, and dont have to rush to find it. I'll check out the ones you mentioned.

Super 8 - Kind of risky staying there. I heard a guy got shot over there recently.

Dollar Inn - I wouldn't stay there. Kind of scary place to stay.

Motel 6 and Red Roof are back to back and probably are OK.

The Clarion Hotel is near these others and is probably the safest.
