I agree that class is a good bet. Here in Michigan if you take the class the ridden teat is waived. I did it that route. I also learned alot in the class. Only test I had was the permit part.

Good luck on which ever you do.

I just took the written (computer, actually)test last week. You need to answer 30 out of 40 correctly to pass.

My on-bike test is Saturday morning.

What kind of questions do they ask? Can hardly imagine after all these years.

The DMV site has a motorcycle manual on their website - I think you also get a copy when you apply for the temp permit.

The skills test will involve:

Making a sharp left turn (set up with intersecting 4' wide lanes),
a slalom set up with 5 cones 1 every 12' and the 2nd & 4th ofset 2' from the centerline.- if you miss (or hit) one, keep moving & keep your feet on the pegs
be prepares to u-turn in a 21' width ,
quick stop & swerve - from 12-0 mph
- do not put your foot down until completed and at a stop and you are done.

Get your liscense and get on the road!

skip the third cone on the slalom, it will only cost you 5 points. the rest is butter.

The Classes are the best way to prepare, but for those of us with dificult schedules, an excelent self-study course is available at no charge from Harris Neil by e-mailing him at MotorLessons@Ricochet.com. This is a watered down version of the HD Police Motor Course.

Good advice. I should have tried that. I did make it through the test with no lost points (after failing on my first attempt by one point).

You can retake the test one week after a failed attempt.

Not slamming you but the 100% gaurantee pass thing makes me a bit nervous, There are some who are just not ready or never will be ready to ride. ANd to assembly line themthru is not really a good idea, IMO

But the Harley D dealer in Deleware OH SR71 and SR36 not to far from sanduskyhas 5 day course that will get you certified right there as well and they use 500cc bikes a bit pricey 300.00 Plus look at the ride time you will get in

If he's close to upper sandusky, thiel's has the same rider training course.
