Mike, where is port Austin? I am in, just keep me posted on some dates if I can make it or not!

 

Its right at the very tip of the thumb. Small little burg. Used to be a few places where kids could play games using tokens you could buy in town, pinball and the like. There was a long pier that went out into Lake Huron I believe, or whatever the body of water there is called..lol. Most of the buildings down by the beach were all wooden and painted white with wooden window covers that were held up by wood rods. Probably they're gone now, heck its been over 40 yrs since I was last there.

It'll probably be an inpromptu type of thing, but I'll see if you're around when I do go.

 

Any one wanting a good excuse to take a ride in the Thumb should check out "Cheeseburger in Caseville" . It is big party based on the Jimmiy Buffet song Cheeseburger in Paridiase.

This year it runs from Aug 10 through 19.

We ride up every year, it is a good time, food , drink and entainment.

If we want to throw together a ride let me know.

I ride the thumb all the time M25 runs all the way around along the cost from Port Huron to Bay City, there are lots of other roads that cut across so we could make it longer or shorter depending on the interest level.

Andy, count me in also, I am up for a ride in the thumb. I will have to see if I am working or not, but otherwise I am all for it.

 

Its an allday'er for me, just riding up through St Johns, then across and up to Post Austin. A full 8 hrs.

 

I had a friend that owned a marina and charter service in GRINDSTONE CITY. We would do weekend road trips all the time.
We would circle down and around and head up US 23 to OSCODA and end at BUNYANTOWN (especially if you like to fish).
Very relaxing ride. Helps you forget about the everyday BS.

Welcome aboard, wish you could have made the ride, it went pretty darn good for a group of guys that have never rode together before. Next one you will have to make it for sure!
