Default Gas fumes

Rode quite a ways in the heat today and parked the bike in the garage as usual. Went out to the garage an hour later and the gas fumes almost knocked me over. No visible fuel on the bike or underneath it. New to HD and my RKC has no petcock of course. Looking for input if this means there may be a problem I need to look for with this otherwise great machine. Thanks in advance for any input.

Heat rises off of hot motor onto bottom of tank causing gas vapors to be pushed out the vent.
