EFI fuel pump - experience?

My fuel pump started making unusual noise when priming, but not always. It has about 25k miles on it. Should I be worried?

Alright, since I plan a road trip and I do not want to spend $500+ at some random HD dealership when my pump fails ($350 HD branded pump + labor + taxes) I got one of these and will tuck it into my saddlebag.

Probably a hole in your fuel line, broken O-ring on the pressure regulator or cracked filter housing. When you look in the fuel tank while its priming is there splashing in the tank? Is it quieter when its full?
