Default help for Short wife on RK Classic

The wife is only 4'7" and can reach the passenger floorboards ok, but she complains that the bag guards are uncomfortable. I guess they dig intothe back of her leg. Any ideas other than strapping blocks to the floor boards to change her leg position? I looked at the bolt assy and didn't see any adjustment capability; did I miss it?

No, she can't sit on my shoulders.

Take off the floorboards where the bracket attaches to the bike's frame. There are 3 heights available. Try the highest but it will still probably not be enough.

Go to HD.com and look under accessories.

There is abracket that raises the floorboards but only in a fixed height position.

There is also an adjustable bracket for the passenger floorboards.

They also offer a different set of bag guards that are lower or setback that helps shorter passengers.

Good luck.

Harley or Kuryakyn, not sure which, makesa set of bag guards that are angled down on the top instead of straight across that are supposed to accomodate shorter passengers, that might just be the ticket.

I had the same problem so I removed the rear bars altogether, I think you are still going to have interference with the angled bars.

Kuryakyn makes an adjustable floorboard mount and Harley has a mount that raises the floorboards up about 2.5". I used the Harley mount for my son. Also I changed the rear guards to the ones from Harley that have the top portion of the bar angled downward.

Harley also has a retro bar that is stock on the road glides (I think) that does away with the rear crash bar completely. It supports the bag with just the bar underneath the bag, leaves the front of the bag opened up for the legs.

I just installed new passenger board extenders #50789-99A. Instant gratification because my dealer had them in stock. The right side install went without a hitch but the left side was a bit of a challenge due to the bend in the support and the proximity of the left pipe. The wife loves the new position and they also will allow me to give my grandaughter some rides this summer.

My girlfriend is also very short, I did what Primo suggested and it solved the problem.
