What Lubricant for Throttle/Clutch "Cables" ?
The Service Manual for my 2007 Street Bob calls for SUPER OIL (HD-94968-85TV) when lubricating cables & hand levers. The H/D parts guy tells me they haven't stocked thatOIL in the last 12 months. He didn't know what to use. Service dept. closed on Sundays, so no help there, but I knew someone on the forum would know. Will WD-40 work or is there a better product?

There are far better lubes than WD-40. WD-40 dries and leaves little lubricant and more of a protectant.
I use Rem Oil...

About 6-7 years ago, I bought a largish can of chain and cable lube for about $8 at the local motorcycle shop. I lube the cables on the bike, my car clutch cable, and anything else that looks like it might need itonce or twicea year. It works well, stays lubed for a long time, and I still have at least half the can left.

If your cables are stock (black), look for Dri-Slide, aka Bike-Aid - it contains graphite (black). If you have clear braided cables, look for Gunk w/ teflon - nothing w/ graphite - you want a clear lube. As another member mentions, WD-40 leaves little lube, better to try to find one of the suggestions.
