hi, everyone, is there any idea how to convert my FATBOY (EFI)twin cam,year 2001 to carburetor ? what should i had to do and change ? i need more information ! thanks.

I got EFI on my 2003 and would never want to
got back to carbs.

 

Exactly! Why would you possibly want to do that? FI delivers the correct amount of fuel the instant that it is needed. A carb can't do that!

 

we have done it to several that had the old M%M fuel injection system, cause IT SUCKED! It's a pain in the ***, but it can be done.

Very good explanation/documentation... but does it start and drive as well in cold weather as EFI?? When the engine begins to overheat in stop and go traffic, does the Harley's computer make the air/fuel mixture richer to cool down the engine withthe carb like it does the EFI???

 

The magni-marelli efi does none of those things, anyway.

 

A buddy of mine has a Road Glide with the old m&m fuel injection system. He told me it was the worst mistake he ever made not getting a carb instead. Nothing but problems. Dephi is much better, but I still prefer a carb so you are not tied to a dealer, or have to buy a fuel management component to get it to run right every time you change something. Just my .02!

 

Yeah, MM features twice the cost and three times the complexity of a carb, without any of that annoying reliability and tunability.
