Default Best way to remove adhesive?

Just got an 07' FLHP, and it still has those goofy warning stickers on the top of the rear fender and top of the air cleaner. I want to take them off and someone suggested heating em' with a hairdryer, will I run the risk of damaging the chrome and paint?

The hair drier will not harm the paint or chrome, but a heated gun will; know the difference between the two. WD40 is widely available, so it's preferred by many. I use
AFTA AFTA
, a commercial wax, grease and adhesive remover used by detailers and dealerships, then wax to protect the surface from UV's.

Whatever you do, DONT use a plastic putty as suggested; instead dab with the adhesive remover and gently wipe off with a "chemically" damp cheesecloth...

Old dry stickers may require extra heating before they'll peel off...

The sticker on the AC I used my heat gun & a razor blade. Worked great. WD-40 works like a champ too with a plastic putty type knife.

Default decal

I have seen people before using 70% alcohol to get the sticky reside up that is left behind. That is up to you but I know 91% will start ruining clearcoat!

mineral spirits have been used in the painting industry for years. I peeled the sticker off my breather, dabbed a little mineral spirits on the adhesive left over waited a couple of minutes then wiped it right off.

the cheapest vodka you can buy will take the adhesive off after the decal is gone.I use a heat gun as it is easier to direct the heat over a dryer
