Default What I Learned Today

Today I learned (basically deduced) that the Harley-Davidson Owner's Manual is essentially useless for performing any kind of self-maintenance on my scooter. Even if something is addressed in the manual, it basically tells you to take it to the Harley shop to have it done. What's up with that??

It's very simple - you buy the factory service manual. Cheap as chips and while there, get the parts book as well. You will be set up for life!

Are you sure you're not speaking of the operators manual that comes with the bike?
