I know when alot of other HD riders see me in my gear they think I must be crazy, but that is ok...
It's actually becoming more commonplace to see HD riders in full face helmets and full gear. I think it's becoming more about safety than image in a day when people just really don't watch out for motorcycles (not that they ever did but there are more cars on the road today).

I like the better hearing and vision with a 1/2 helmet.
Sometimes I find it a little restricting on vision but not enough to cause me any trouble and I need the added hearing protection since my hearing's not all that great anyway. That's another reason I don't want to switch.

For me its good riding boots, kevlar jeans, leather jacket and gloves, full face helmet. O'h and seat belts on in cars. You are kidding yourself otherwise....

I would like to get a good pair of boots, but they would need to be zippered, due to my fused ankle (that's another story).

The HD Side Streets are some nice boots that are zippered and aren't too bad cost wise...

Those look good. I have a pair of Sidi boots I wear. They are all black but might look a little out of place on the HD. I also have the kevlar lined jeans... but have found them to be not so comfortable for me, so I end up rolling in regular jeans. There is that term risk acceptance again!

I don't know if I could wear jeans lined with kevlar. I didn't like it when I had to wear it on my head in the Marines don't think I'd want it in my jeans.

Those might be a little hard to fit since you don't have any control over them as far as how tight or loose they are...try these:

They'll let you tighten or loosen and then you can just zip and unzip.
