I just bought a 2011 FLHTP and have already exchanged the stock seat with the HD Hammock (PN 52000003) Rider/Passenger Seat and want to add a detachable Passenger Backrest (Sissy Bar PN 52627-09) and Detachable Luggage Rack and I have been told that I need to buy the Detachable Tour-Pak Mounting Rack (PN 53249-09A) in order to use these other detachable parts. The 4-Point Docking Hardware Kit (PN 54205-09) would save me $400.00 if I could use that instead. Is the requirement for the Detachable Tour-Pak Mounting Rack only to provide someplace to put the license plate and if so, are there other options to relocate that and not have to spend quite so much money? I'd love to feel the GF's 36C's on my back but she won't ride without a backrest so a quick response would be greatly appreciated!
