Default Broken Floorboard bolt

I am new to this do it yourself stuff. I understand how to drill out a broken bolt. But the grade 8 bolt on the floorboard is so hard I have tried everything to drill into it. I am out of ideas and really don't want to go to the dealer just yet. Anyone that can help I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

A little more info would help, what are you working on? year/model what bolt etc. Can you post a pic?

Drilling a bolt takes a little knowledge. The harder the bolt the more aggressive you need to be to get it drilled out and avoid "work hardening" it.

If its broken flush you an work it out with an angle cut pointed chisel.

Can you heat the area that it thread into? Even a heat gun can help loosten things up.

If you know someone with a TIG or MIG welder, you can weld a smaller bolt to it and then use it to screw out the old one.
