I just bought an HD helmet with the flip down "sun shield".

I'm wondering if it has any UV protection. There's nothing in the book or catalog about it. Only that's it meets VESC-8 stds - which has to do with shatter proofing.

I would think if you were going to call it a sun shield it prolly ought to actually do that. And if it did, I'd think you'd want to say how much and what it protects you form. Or what?

Don"t know about the UV protection but would think that it will provide some protection. How do you like the helmet? I just ordered the white helmet 97279-12vm. I wanted some more protection from the sun. tired of my face gettin burned. Always forgetting to put sun block on lol. Also thought it would be protection in the rain.

 

Well ,I think the Sun Shield won't do much blocking of the UV , it would only block some sun light and make you feel less dazzling when you're driving . To achieve the UV protection effect , you need a UV filter ,and it usually with color on the glass .
