I purchased a 1996 FLHTCUI a couple weeks ago and it seems to have some speaker issues. Can someone tell a beginner how to get the speakers out of the speaker pods mounted on the back of the bike. I have taken them off the back bag and they seem to be enclosed in the pod with a leather cover stapled to the pod. is there a way to remove the speaker cover to remove the speaker from the pod? There are no screws on the outside of the speaker covers to remove.

Also can I just buy some speaker to fit the pods to replace or do I have to have some kind of special speakers to replace them that will work with my handlebar and back controls?

I am trying to save money.
