I have an FXR 1994 Harley and I have a problem with the neutral light coming on after excellerating, I engage neutral and the light goes out it stays out on exelleration until throttle is shut and then it comes back on, any ideas, could it be a bad earth? I have replaced the transmission switch but to no avail.

 

My guess is the neutral switch is bad. I replaced mine when the light didn't work at all and now it works great, however it does blink a little as I shift from first to second. It makes sense as neutral is between first and second.

The switch is a little tough to get at......I used a box end 7/8" wrench and finally got the switch installed. Let us know what you find out.
