I had a similar oops, air line popped off. Pressurized shock 'spit' oil out with the air. I called HD Technical to find out what type of oil was used and was told they can't be refilled. I also tried to find out the manufacture of the shock, figured I go to the source. That proved to be a dead end as well. Seems HD likes to keep info close to the breast, so to speak. I lucked out, found a chap who swapped out his low mileage shocks for performance suspension.

Go to the Touring forum, where you will find some of the guys over there tune the air shocks by using different grades of oil. It is possible to refill them! Sportster owners also buy touring air shocks for their bikes and tune them the same way.
