Default Riser bolt deliemma

Hi, all. I need some help with an odd situation. I have a nice set of old risers I want to use on my '95 springer softail. My problem is the hole is 1/2 " and my risers have been heli-coiled for a 3/8 or 7/16 bolt. What I want to know is can I use some type of spacers, grommets or something to fill in the very small gap? Heck, I even think duct tape would do it. Any suggestions?
thanks

You so not want to use risers with a mount bolt smaller than 1/2" , accident waiting to happen . Do a search in here somebody is breaking risers or the bolt's almost weekly .

I did that a long time ago. First of all, duct tape will not work. I used 1/2 inch round stock. A buddy who owns a machine shop cut it to the correct length, and then drilled it out with his drill press to the correct diameter. It fit like a glove.

TwiZted makes a good point, though.
