How to manually disarm your security alarm
#21
Questions for you.
Does the security lamp (red key symbol) flash when you push the button on your fob?
What did you do to display this?
It's been established that a PIN consists of numbers 1 through 9 (no zeros). After reading the security section in the 2003 Softails Owner's Manual, I don't see where the PIN is displayed in the odometer window when entering a PIN (I could be wrong). From what I understand, you keep track of the number of times you push the left turn signal button. Each push is confirmed by a flash of the security lamp. If you make an error, the alarm will activate.
I suggest you read the section in your Owner's Manual on changing the PIN. Start off with 11111. It will be easier to keep track of turn signal pushes. You can always change it later.
As a side note. When changing the PIN on a newer bike with a hands free proximity fob, you need to be pretty quick on the draw. Any hesitation between steps will result in failure. I don't know if the same holds true with the push button fob system.

Dear Barneyboy,
i read the instructions. The problem is that there is no interaction between keyfob and bike. I don’t know why but it is like there is an electromagnetic field and block the interaction. As for the picture with the pin, you can retrieve the pin if you have forgotten following a certain procedure ( learned from YouTube)
press the black button on the left side of the display for 10 sec and then holding that button turn the ignition on off on off on. Then press the black button 12 times until you see ppu and then you can see your pin.
I hope I wrote them correct as I reply by heart because I am out of my base. Try it and I send you the link when I will be back.
have a nice day

If you learned the procedure from this guy, you may be interested in this video. The display in your odometer is not your PIN.

Thanks barneyboy.
it was that link with that guy. that was the reason there was a zero in the fourth number of my odometer. I also follow your instruction regarding the second keyfob and now it works.
Finaly i found the reason why the keyfobs does not work. My parking is beside the elevator . when i move the bike (armed with the alarm ringing) a few meters away the elevator, it works. When i put it back the keyfobs does not work.
Thank you for your help
