Which braided cables?

Default Which braided cables?

getting ready to replace all my cables with braided ones..I kind of like the stearling chromite brand from magnum..anyone tried them?

I hate steel braided cables and I will tell you why. First where they rub they will cut what ever they rub on like a rat tail file. Then the braids fray and when every you get near them they cut you like a pin cushion. If you get the ones that are plastic coated the coating turns yellow. This is from the view point of a mechanic as I have been cut by braided lines and cables a LOT! But they do look good but that is all.

Thats what I would do, I got the diamond backs made by magnum and I love em.

I went with goodrich (sp) for brake lines and drag specialties for throttle. I think if you get proper hold downs, ie: cable to frame clamps, you can minimize abrasion. Did this when I went to mini-apes. Not that big of a cash outlay, if they get frayed, they'll get replaced. Actually made a noticable difference in braking, that's a good thing.
