How are tank badges affixed to tanks. Are they put on with an adhesive? Riveted to tank?. I am painting my dyna and can't find a decal that I like and of course the one that is on my bike now is screened on. hoping they are just put on with adhesive so I can do this after the paint.

cateyetech is correct. I just removed incorrect badges from my 84 FLH to return it to a stock paint job. The backing that the badge mounts to is glued to the tank.
