Breaknbad,

Those rides are awesome. I had a couple of buddies that would make those rides with me. Look into some of the bread and breakfasts out on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Awesome rides to head up, stay the night get breakfast and come back on a Sunday morning. The country is beautiful, the sites are tremendous, and the air is so clean. There is no other way to experience it. We would take it slow, stopping every couple of hours for coffee (pee for the wife), and just enjoy. Some of those roads are tight, so be careful, many a truck comes around the corner a little close the the double yellows...

You head a little bit west, you won't go wrong.

Hey Pilot1996,

Thanks for the info. Sounds like something i will do next year. I did alot of short hops this year, but would really like to do a weekend trip to really no where. Just to where the road takes me.

Longest individual trip: Left Ohio in May '81 with ~ 1500 miles on a '78 FLH 3 speed w/reverse. Returned to Ohio in Sep '81 with ~ 30k miles on it. Ended up putting over 200k miles on that bike.
Total mileage on all bikes over the last 31 years: Probably close to 750k miles. (Too much time overseas with Uncle Sam's Canoe Club!)

Pococj,

Uncle Sam's canoe club? HAHA! I like it. Unfortunately, that same club has kept me from getting in more miles than I would like to have by now. But, that's the way it is.

Markuda - you do deserve some sort of medal...108K in less than 2 years? That is impressive.

Cheers!

I put 10k on my 02 FLSTC before I sold it. Then I've put 35k on my 02 FXSTI. I put about 5k on my GSXR750 before I sold it and 6k on my Hayabusa in the past 5 months.

Longest trip was last year, 6,800 miles from DC to Boise ID up to Canada (Fernie BC) over to Buffalo and back to DC. Next was this past August with 4,000 miles from Denver to Boise, out to the coast, south to San Francisco to Las Vegas and then back to Denver. Next was 3,000 on the Hayabusa (got my IronButt on that).

Most trips are solo. This past one was with my wife. She was riding her Aprilia Atlantic.

Wow, it sounds like you have a lot of time to ride... I get most of my mileage going back and forth to work.

Well the kids are all gone so there's more time to ride. I've put 10k on both bikes this past year but part of it was being unemployed from April until last month. It does make it easier to go for a ride :-)
