Default CB Noise

I just purchased a 2010 Ultra Limited in April. I've only got 6500 miles on it and the CB is making an awful popping and cracking noise in the headset or the external speakers which ever i'm using at the time, had it in the shop last Tuesday with no luck by Thursday I needed it back for the weekend and now the radio is shutting down randomly. I put it back in the shop when I returned on Tuesday of this week and now it is Saturday and no one still knows what's wrong. The tech has replaced the antenna and cb radio with no results. If any one has encountered this and found a solution, please pass it on I really need help.
Thanks in advance
Mike without a bike!!!!!

It's not simple to diagnose the problem, but here I would start with.
I assume you should familiar with adjusting the "squelch" level.
A weak signal out of range will give you all kind of different noises, depending on the receiving distance. It also depends on how far you want to communicate, if you have a good line-of-sight.
One more thing, the ear phone that come with the bike does not have a very good quality.
Hope this help some how.

I put a handheld CB on my wife's FLHP powered by the bike's battery and using a saddlebag guard mounted antenna with a measured SWR of no more than 1.5 to1. The radio operates very well at speeds below 50 mph but the signal deteriorates dramatically with increased speed.
I installed an RF choke and filter at the battery then proceeded to place chokes in suspected RF locations, all to no avail.
If anyone has found a solution, info would be welcome.
