Default Sticking Speedometer needle '95 DWG

Anyone ever have a problem with this? My speedometer needle will act like it's getting stuck while i ride. For a while I thought it was the sensor, but the more I look at it, the more I think the actual needle is getting stuck. It typically only stays stuck for a couple minuets and then will break free and jump to whatever speed I'm doing, and when it does get stuck I can hit the side of my housing and either cause it to move a little or break free completely. Should this be as easy as squirting some WD-40 into the back of the speedometer, or is it going to be more involved than that?

Thanks!
