Default Powdercoat cleaner? Any recommendations?

I have an '06 Standard with the grey powdercoat motor etc. This stain has appeared on the outer primary and runs down about 3 inches. Have no idea what it is or where it came from. Nothing appears to be leaking. Now I know this may sound picky but my bike is showroom condition and the stain sticks out like a sore thumb. I've tried soap and water which dulled it down a bit but doesn't remove it. Can anyone out there recommend something that won't harm the powdercoat?

Thanks,

Vinny

Have you use any strong cleaners like S100? If you don't rinse completely, it can leave a whitish residue. You can try a citrus based cleaner and a stiff nylon brush. Follow up with a coating of S100 Engine Brightener.

S100 cycle wash is a good product,if you precisely follow the instructions. Common mistakes are not rising with lots of water and washing while the surfaces are warm. I personally don't use the cleaners because I've seen the problems caused from improper use. In the many years I've been detailing,I have learned there are no "magic or quick" cleaners. Cleaning your bike is hard work. Simple house hold cleaners work well when used properly. Ordinary car wash soap for the tins and frame. Citrus cleaner and a stiff nylon brush on the tires and wheels. Using steel wool on white walls leaves small scratches that collect dirt. Simple Green and Citrus cleaners are safe for the engine and chrome. For heavy grease and dirt degreaser like Super-clean can be used with caution, always follow the instructions. After you have cleaned the engine, apply a product, like S100 Engine Brightener, to prevent dirt from sticking to the engine.

My Bobber is completely powdercoated. Not one ounce of paint. I use WD-40 then whipe with a clean cloth... ;-)

I just spray some Simple Green on and wash it off 5 minutes later. Make sure the cloth you wipe it down with isn't fuzzy or frayed. Just something smooth like a cotton rag etc, About all the dirt mine gets is dust on it and for what its worth water will clean that off by itself.
