Default Need a horn that is loud and small

Gents,

I bought a Wolo horn to replace the OEM. It sucks I think its actually less loud than the OEM. I want one that fits under the OEM cover if possible. There are plenty of Cagers here in the Pacific NW that a rider needs to get there attention. So here are my questions.

1. Can I use a Car horn instead.
2. Whats another brand that doesnt sound like a rice burner horn (I want Loud).

Hey Jim, welcome to the forum. I have a Wolo that kicks a$$. I just live around the corner from you. Maybe we could grab a beer sometime and compare notes.

Smile Harbor Freight Bad Boy

Harbor Freight sells the Bad Boy horn for $45. Super loud!! It comes with a small electric compressor. What you do is separate the compressor from the horn Install horn under your original cover, find a another spot for the compressor and run a hose from it to the horn. I have done couple bikes that way and it works great. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=94117

It does not fit under stock cover, but it comes with a cover that looks pretty good. Mini-Beast. It is an air horn, and the compressor and horn are all under the cover, so there is no need to mount compressor someplace else. Installation is simple and straight forward. IT IS LOUD!!!!

The horn from Harbor Freight does not come with a cover like the Mini Beast. So you do have to take it apart for it to fit under the stock cover. Its also $45 where the Mini Beast depending where you buy it is anywhere from $150 to $250. The Mini Beast is a nice horn but thats alot of extra money just for the cover.

Default Looked at them all

Gents,

I went to Harley and they showed me the mini beast, and it aint mini by any stretch of the imagination. The cover on that thing is huge. We fired it up in the store, and some lady almost pissed herself, pretty funny hahaha. Then the parts guy showed me the Harley horn it looks identical to a Wolo badboy only it has a chrome colored plastic horn. It needs an install kit as well. So here is how the options laid out.
Mini Beast: Huge and LOUD 189.00
Harley Horn: 135.00 and 65.00 instal kit, 200.00
Wolo Badboy: 42.99

I choose the Wolo for 42.99

Any suggestions on how to mount it?

Thanks guys

Separate the horn from the compressor. Install the horn under your stock cover using 2 zip ties. Its a tight fit but it will fit. Then find a out of the way place for the compressor and run a rubber or plastic hose from the compressor to the horn.

I tried a HF mini beast. Too fugly and don`t know if the sound got forward. I`m still on a quest for a horn (need to get rid of the cowbell, everybody has on). Got a Rivco off ebay and it`s too big. Sold it on Craig`s list. The best alternative might be to mount a mini beast hidden somewhere (rainy day project). It`s unreal, the prices, for horn covers.
