RE: To Sell or Not????
Congratulations on the new bagger! I was gonna tell you that 33k is low mileage, and that you could do a top end jobeasily enough for way less than $1500.
Was wondering about the lousy mpg you quoted. I can get over 50mpg if I ride like a nice guy. Drops to the low 40mpg range with the big windshield, 2-up, and speeds in the 70-75mph range.
Plus the top end noise might've been lifters. They've been known to take the route south around 30k miles on some of the Evo motors. Don't know how the TC lifters are doing.
Anyway, have fun this spring. Say, you wouldn't be able to get any "seconds" on some unchromed pipes for an '87 Sloptail, would ya? <VBG>

RE: To Sell or Not????
Just FYI, I've got 35k on my 02 TC-88 and there doesn't seem to be any engine trouble so far.
I have had to take her in for three repairs; rocker cover oil leak and factory problem (wrong sized spacer in on the drive shaft), hole in some part of the fuel pump (the pump prime pressurization noise never really stopped; too two visits to get it found and fixed) and the third time the security module failed and the bike wouldn't stay started for more than 3 seconds. I had to truck her to the dealer for that.
But nothing with the actual engine :-)
