Powder Coating
Anyone have any experiance with Doing their on Powder Coating? I've been looking into eastwoods Elite HotCoat Powder Coating Kit. I plan on doing a simple gloss black coating on a few parts mainly bars/risers and exhaust heat shields. Thanks.

I once had the idea of doing a few things too. Then the thought came "when I go to cook the parts...do I use my oven in the house?" I decided against it, since I really didn't know what kind of harmful fumes the coating puts off. Besides, I've inhaled enough bad stuff throughout my life. Anyhoo, if I had an oven of my own, outside in my shop, I would do it for sure.

I use the eastwood system and it works great.Ive done quite a bit of powdercoating with it.Dont use a gas oven or the oven in youre house as the fumes are rough. You can use a regular oven thats electric though.Ive since built my own oven out of a commecial restraunt freezer, that measures 4'x5'x3'.Its big enough to do anything motorcycle related. All the work with powdercoating is in the prep. There are also some good forumd out there for powdercoating.check caswellplating i belive they got a forum link there.
